The story:

Came about after I had laid Mr. R. Esident to rest in Prague with "Eastward", when Roy Hadfield came to visit me in Copenhagen in April 1998. On the phone, he had asked (as politely as always): "But Martin? Shouldn't we make a movie while I’m there?", and I had replied: "OK ok Roy! But then your character must die!”

On these terms, we started shooting "Patricide" in April 98, Roy, myself & Tony Clayden who had become a friend of both me and Ruth’s´. Really it was all about gender...and how wimpy-wishy-washy Danes had become...But I think there’s a bit of universal truth in there...
