30 second TV ad for a theater production at Nørrebros Teater

Direction / Cinematography / Editing

Story:

This production came about after Synne from Noerrebro´s Theatre called me up. They had a hit on their hands and wanted something new and `untheatrical´ and so Jesper Soerensen, Bubs and myself went down there one afternoon during rehearsals and filmed a run-through of a couple of scenes. With 3 cameras and under the eager `direction´ of Flemming Jensen, we got something a little more interesting than the usual cardboard theatre stuff, I think. The final version still suffers from theatrical frontality and stasis, but spiced with camera movement, double exposures and so on, it turned out ok, but I´m sure it´s possible to rethink this format entirely and create something far more up-to-date and attention-grabbing. Not much you can do with ordered jobs like this, though, but at least the show as a whole had some political import and although not exactly my cup of tea, some very hilarious satirical moments indeed. Of course the war alliance between DK and USA in Iraq could turn out to be the first of many…
