Story:
I have known Karin Kolstrup since she was about 15 & and I was 17, and have never before (or since) encountered such an (for me) elusive personality as hers. When I was going out with her in my teens we had fun, but I never had a goddamn clue as to what she wanted – with me, in her life, her feelings and so on.
I made this as a tribute to the (now) woman who eludes me, but truly always fascinated me in the best sense of the word. But perhaps more importantly, this is dedicated to Karin’s man, Jan, whom I truly admire for his courage to take it all on.
This was a great little film, mainly because it was shot on 16 mill. Bubs has more than her share in the final film’s expression, and after Japanese Watercolor there seems to be no stopping her in just about everything she does in terms of recording. We are quite pleased with this film, even though we have had people here dismissing it for being both scary & non-romantic.……..
The music, incidentally, is by one of my all-time favourites, Ray Noble. Check him out……..
The noise from Carolee Schneemann’s “Fuses” – check THAT out.............
