Sune Klingsey: Journalist

Story:

Pretty wild clip for one of the most commercial slots on TV2 apart from Good Morning Denmark. Had been home (from Thailand) for less than a week when Sune Klingsey called me up. A journalist apprentice at Nordisk Film, he was eager to make his own stuff and when the Copenhagen Film Festival began, he was on the case. Sune, more so than any other person I have ever worked with, has the uncanny ability to attract celebrities, and this evening in Imperial turned out to be hard work for me. The clip still seems like a rough cut (what with the industrial last-minute touch of NF), but overall I like it. Its big close ups of the stars, their undeniable warmth, interest and open responses to Sune’s winning smile somehow create a closer view of these people…For a media so obsessed by talking heads, it is remarkable how rare the viewer is subjected to the big, or indeed the extreme close up!

This guy Sune, and really I must give him that, has a, hitherto unseen by me, full on force & unashamedly seductive method, luring the big boys and girls and actually turning them on to the tunes of his own fancy…Try and do voxpops with the appointed `creative person´ from some advertising bureau and you will begin to understand what, after all, a journalist, when good, is able to master…
