Story:

I first met Andy around New Year 2003-4 and couldn’t believe his striking idiosyncrasies, but perhaps even more so the amount of attention-grabbing that dog could get away with. The family, including Bubba, would let him get away with murder begging goodies. Nothing special about that from a dog I guess, but the expressions Andiku would display, all depending on the individual situation, the people present and of course the food potentially available, were truly exceptional. Some of those faces can be seen in this short film, edited by Bubba, one of her first.

Andy WAS very cool…and for those around him, he redefined the cliché of the yapping sausage dog, always jumping up & down uncomfortably fast, never able to relax. Although always playful and staggeringly charming, Andik was nevertheless severely choosey and would never humor folk he didn’t like, so being picked as a worthy playmate made me feel extremely good.

That Summer (of 2004) under the clear blue sky with temperatures well above 30 degrees celcius, I spent several hours every day with Andy in the garden of the family house in Zubri. His closest ones were busy working and Bubs had 100s of people she needed to see so Andy & I chilled out together and became very close. At times I’d foolishly think I was his favorite, only to realize the obvious; Andik wasn’t bought easily with a bit of caressing or a slap of meat (although this worked well up to a certain point, the family being vegetarians each and every one) and as a rule he was quick to turn cold when any household members would turn up focusing his attention solely on them. A real character & an intelligent creature he hated being filmed and was fully aware of it at all times. Luckily a few shots succeeded in showing Andy from his best side – truly a wonderful dog & indeed a sexy boy!
